Together with company partners and the entire research team a kick-off was held to celebrate the start of MD3S+ (Model Driven Development and Decision Support profile+, 55 msek 3 year project). Dean Benny Lövström and Profile Director Professor Tobias Larsson inaugurated the profile+ project.
During two days we put the makerspace on wheels together with Kreativum in order to bring the concept pf creation with technology to the younger kids in Blekinge County. We visited two schools (Kättilsmåla skola and Hobyskolan) and gave 4 makerspace sessions for kids age 10-14, and in parallel Kreativum gave 4 sessions.
Rödebyskolans 8’e-klassare (ett 50-tal) spenderade dagen i Karlskrona Makerspace under ledning av PDRL’s Tobias Larsson i syfte att bekanta sig mer med teknikutveckling samt att själva få jobba sig igenom en produktutvecklingsuppgift. Efter en introduktion till BTH och våra utbildningar, forskargruppens fokus på digital modelldriven produktutveckling, samt fått grunderna i vad ett makerspace är och används till så var det dags att experimentera lite...
We did get the approval for the Profile+ extension (3 year / 55 MSEK) from the Knowledge Foundation, excellent!This means that we will further deepen the research in digital product development in order to support the transition to a sustainable society, and we will support our partners development of sustainable product-service systems suitable for the circular economy.
The Knowledge Foundation (hhttp://www.kks.se/) has decided to fund the development of our MSc Programme in Mechanical Engineering (project budget of 2.7 MSEK).
In collaboration with Womengineering (http://womengineer.org/) BTH invited young girls on the “Introduce a Girl to Engineering”-day (http://www.igeday.com/) where we showed the engineering education and created an interface towards being an engineering by allowing girls to meet with students and teachers, and also get a chance to experiment with problem solving.
The Blue Science Park Innovation Day 2019 was yet another successful demonstration of BTH’s PhD students driven research. With a unique blend of industries represented at the event there was quite a buzz around the HoloLens Augmented Reality based prototypes created for autonomous construction vehicle interaction, and the Poppy Robot used for engineering student experiments.
Produktutvecklingslabbet bjöd in till en eftermiddag i Karlskrona Makerspace där ungdomar fick delta i årets sportlovsaktivitet; att bygga sin egen “automata”, en mekanisk skulptur. Sedan 2013 har BTH tillsammans med företagspartners drivit ett forskningsprojekt med fokus på modelldriven utveckling och beslutsstöd fokuserat på att stödja framtagningen av morgondagens hållbara produkt-tjänstelösningar. Projektet avslutas Mars 2019 och resultat börjar finnas tillgängliga. I samarbete med SIG-PM och Produktutvecklingsakademin höll projektet en resultatsession fokuserat på hur ett modellbaserat arbetssätt kan användas vid produktutveckling.
